Consulted with education departments in these three universities implementing their foundation grant on internationalizing teacher education.
Central College, Iowa (September 2010–April 2012)
- Consulted on development and implementation of internationalization strategy, in collaboration with The Learning Alliance. Developed planning paper (2011-2012).
- Planned and facilitated a retreat of entire faculty and staff (January 2011). To prepare, interviewed 16 faculty and staff, and resident directors of study abroad program, prepared a summary of issues.
- Conducted retreats of CC study abroad site directors (April 2011 and April 2012).
- Keynoted annual meeting of Central College Abroad (April 2012).
The Teagle Foundation (June 2012–present)
Serve as Senior Program Consultant. Worked with prospective grantees to shape proposals, participate in creation of new grant programs, review proposals, contribute to preparation for board meetings, plan topical forums. Currently serve as evaluator for projects in the initiative “Faculty Participation and Curricular Coherence (through 2018).
Rand Corporation (2011-2014)
Ongoing consultation with the director of the Education Unit on organizational issues and the development of the Unit’s strategic plan. Conducted in cooperation with Ranmore Consulting Group, UK. Facilitated a strategic planning retreat for staff (September 2011).
NAFSA: Association of International Educators (2011–present)
Serve as one of six Senior Fellows who meet twice yearly to advise NAFSA on current trends in higher education and to contribute to their thought leadership through writing and presentations.
