• Conducted workshop for faculty and staff on internationalization programs and strategies; advised on future directions.
The George Washington University (June - September 2011)
• Consulted on the development of GWU’s strategic plan for internationalization.

Indiana University Center for Global Change (May 2011 and May 2012)
• Keynote speaker and workshop leader for three-day seminar for administrators and faculty members on campus internationalization strategies. Presentations focused on comprehensive internationalization, strategic planning, and measuring internationalization.
Kent State University, University of Akron, Miami University of Ohio (January - May 2011)
• Consulted with education departments in these three universities on strategies for implementation of a foundation grant on internationalizing teacher education.
Central College, Iowa (September 2010 -April 2012)
• On-going consultation on development and implementation of internationalization strategy, in collaboration with The Learning Alliance. Developed planning paper (2011-2012).
• Planned and facilitated a retreat of entire faculty and staff (January 2011). To prepare, interviewed 16 faculty and staff, and resident directors of study abroad program, and prepared a summary of issues.
• Conducted retreats of CC study abroad site directors (April 2011 and April 2012 ).
• Keynoted annual meeting of Central College Abroad (April 2012).

Rand Corporation (August 2011- present)
• Ongoing consultation with the director of the Education Unit on organizational issues and the development of the Unit’s strategic plan. Conducted in cooperation with Ranmore Consulting Group, UK. Facilitated a strategic planning retreat for staff (September 2011).

INTERNATIONAL WORK
International Association of Universities, Senior Fellow (June 2010 - present).
• Lead IAU’s Internationalization Strategy Advisory Service (ISAS), a service to IAU member institutions worldwide to review and advance their internationalization policies and strategies. The process includes an initial visit, regular phone calls with the institutional steering committee, identification of an international peer review team, and the development of a report with recommendations. • Consult with IAU on all aspects of its internationalization work (policy statements, program development).
NUFFIC: (organization for international education of the netherlands) (March 2013)
• Participated in an invitational working group to guide NUFFIC in its project to define and assess international learning outcomes.
Columbus Association, Paris, France (March 2011)
• Conducted in Spanish a two-day workshop in Spanish for Latin American university rectors and senior administrators on leading internationalization in Barranquilla, Colombia for Columbus (an association of European and Latin American universities.) Presentations on leadership, strategic planning, implementation strategies, and measurement.
European University Association (August 2010)
• Planned and facilitated a one-day retreat of board members, member presidents, and EUA staff. To prepare for the retreat, I interviewed all 18 retreat participants as well as other key individuals, and developed a summary of issues.
Texas A&M University at Qatar (February 2010 and January 2012)
• Member of an international team invited by the Qatar Foundation and Texas A&M at Qatar to review the progress of this branch campus since its founding. Co-authored report. Participated in two visits.

• Member of an international team of economists and higher education experts focusing on the contribution of higher education (University of Arizona, community college system) to regional economic development through research and workforce preparation; co-authored report.
